The Role
This is a software development role for someone with at least 3-5 years experience. The role is integral to the evolution of our already market leading technology. We are developing technology which aims to gain a deep understanding of the content, context and user behaviours on platforms such as YouTube to deliver advertisers more relevant, targeted and effective campaigns than ever before.
We’re a startup so need a self starter who is happy to work both in London and at home. The role will be to lead the development of key projects in our product roadmap.
The successful candidate should have superb attention to detail, interpersonal skills
(we work as a dynamic team where collaboration is key) and impeccable organization and administration skills.
We would love to see candidates who have experience in the media and advertising industry who also have a keen interest in the development and application of AI.
Key responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems in Node.js to collect, process, and deliver data from APIs and other digital platforms.

Develop and optimize API integrations (including YouTube Data API) to ensure reliable and efficient data ingestion.

Implement and manage data pipelines to support analytics, targeting, and advertising campaign optimization.

Collaborate with product managers, data teams, and marketing stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following modern software engineering best practices.

Contribute to the architecture and design of new features, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Manage and optimize databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) for storing and querying large-scale media and advertising datasets.

Deploy and monitor services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ensuring system reliability and uptime.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies in ad tech, APIs, and backend development, bringing new ideas to the team.
Requirements:
-
Proven experience as a developer, preferably within the advertising technology or digital media space.

Strong proficiency in Node.js for data processing, automation, and integration with internal and external APIs.

Solid understanding of JavaScript and asynchronous programming principles.

Experience working with YouTube API, social media platforms, or similar data sources is highly desirable.

Advanced skills in SQL and working with large datasets from various sources (structured and unstructured), ideally using BigQuery and GCP.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to present insights clearly and effectively.

Understanding of digital advertising metrics (e.g., impressions, CPM, engagement rate) and campaign performance analysis is an advantage.

Ability to design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support real-time and batch analytics.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and marketing teams.

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science (or similar), or equivalent experience.
